About Me

Who am I? 

Whew, that’s a loaded question.

 I am many things, and I am still in the depth my becoming so I will try to sum it up.

I am Fae, and I am safe with me.

I also refer to myself as 'The Mighty Yaguar'. The Yaguar is my artist name.

 I’ve always resonated with the jaguar (there I added the colonial j for those of you who need it). 

I am very much anti-empire over here, I’m actually still busting my ass tryna decolonize.

I’ve had my first introduction to spirituality through the yaguar.

Since childhood, the yaguar roamed my dreams, so we have a very, very close relationship.

Something about that South American soil, colonialism may add its bacteria, but the land remembers. 

I am a citizen of Gaia/Earth, as we all are, Canadian nationality, I immigrated to Canada as a teen.

I was born in the land of many waters, the home of the mighty Yaguar, the gem between the mount and seas, beautiful Guiana (Guyana).

Guiana will always hold a special place in my heart, its soil houses the blood and bones of destinies stolen, my ancestors' songs will forever hum in the melodies its waters. 

I am an artist; I do poems, painting, some singing, and I dabble a little bit in dance. I love to create. I love clothes. I have always loved clothes.

 I’ve always loved fashion, so every piece here reflects a petal of my identity, of who I am in my becoming. 

I am a fourth-generation healer, medicine woman, and herbalist.

My great grandmother a herbalist, was who the women went to for any fertility or feminine related aliments. 

My grandfather was a medicine man in his own way, the land was his church and he never missed a service.  

My uncle Bo, the Lion, a rastafarian, a chef, a herbalist, the revolutionary of the family.

And me I love to heal, I am actually an AMECA certified Primary care Paramedic.

 

For me herbalism came natural, I have the ability to make tea blends for people just from reading their energy.

Most of my custom tea blends if I can, I usually do an in person consult,

I find a lot of people are very tuned to what their body need but their spirit tells a different story.

I also make majick potions that elevate your cannabis experience.

Yes, I smoke weed but not how you think, marijuana is one of the most powerful plant on this planet.

However, I find that a lot people have no idea how to use it's medcine correctly.

Over the last last ten years I've research and use this plant in numereous ways to heal myself and my community. 

Those of you that have had the "Fae experience"  know that there's no one out there that do what I do, you ain't had a good blunt until you have a Fae blunt.

The kitchen in my conjure room, I’m not one to toot my own horn, ha, kidding, y’all know I own my shit.

But for real, cooking is where I create my best art, it is how I express my love to myself, and those blessed to be nourished by me.

I am also a yoga teacher, not just any yoga teacher, but a Break the Binary yoga teacher.

I teach yoga that is trauma informed and focused on nervous system regulation.

I meet you where you are, you do not have to be a certain size, shape, or colour to experience peace, love, and safety in your body. 

 Where I am on my journey, 

As I continue on this road of life, I am not religious, but I am spiritual.

I am, you know, forever a student, forever seeking enlightenment, and growth, and transformation, and change.

None of that is possible without love, so I guess you can say love is my religion.

It is my shop, it is how I serve, how I sustain myself.

It is how I connect to my community, how I reach out to my people, and how my people find me. 

As a queer, neurodivergent, Black Caribbean woman,

I am intentional about building safe spaces for my folks, and also doing the work necessary to be that safe container. 

I am the founder of Flow N’ Fire, which is a healing circle; a space for women,

specifically Black women, to exist without the stifling cloak of colonization.
